WELCOME TO THE CASTLE OF FIEUX

I saw the castle of Fieux, in the distance, in the middle of a forest, all misty, from Miradoux (north of the Gers). I ventured in that direction and discovered it. It is a castle from the 2nd half of the 19th century with two large crenellated towers, the Renaissance or Classic style facade with high windows, the slate roof and a curious chapel attached. 

The first documents show that Castelnau de Miradoux was founded in 1253, making it one of the oldest in the Gers. It was later transformed into a Bastide. Castle rebuilt in the third quarter of the 19th century in the troubadour style, chapel rebuilt around 1865; park (now destroyed) designed by André, landscape gardener. Miradoux in the 13th century, included a fortified castle with its ramparts and the village was almost completely surrounded by ramparts with external ditches, this fortified castle was demolished around the 14th century and the lord offered the stones to build a church at the same location, and the keep was transformed into a bell tower
